The outdoor learning/outdoor education terminology debate has taken place frequently over the years. For the last 18 months SAPOE have been engaging with Education Scotland as part of the Curriculum Improvement Cycle. Part of the collaboration is to increase understanding and improve consistency of the most used terms when we are talking about outdoor learning and adventure activity.

Hence the return to the debate and we invite you to join the conversation.

On a slightly serious note the intended outcome is to improve the broad understanding of terminology as we work together to ensure there is a strategic pedagogical vision of outdoor learning as a teaching approach across all learning.
