Opening Up Great Learning – Learning for Sustainability

This paper examines what great learning for sustainability (LfS) looks like. It demonstrates how meeting national LfS recommendations can enable schools, early learning and childcare settings to achieve great outcomes. The paper also provides a range of Career-long Professional Learning activities to support whole school dialogue and strategic development of LfS.

Opening Up Great Learning is a new series of discussion papers from Education Scotland. They focus discussion on learning itself and how it is changing in response to the opportunities afforded by CfE. Each paper begins with a thought-provoking narrative exploring what great learning might actually be, and then a ‘let’s talk about…’  section with activities for practitioners to use if they wish.
